His love of film came from his mother, a woman who took him to Amadeus when he was three years old and showed him The Haunting when he was six. She was constantly trying to hone his film palette and, eventually, it stuck: he fell in love with the art. He shot his first 16mm short, a dystopian view of high school life in the future, when he was 16. It was a great moment for him (even though the film itself didn’t turn out particularly well). He realized the magic of making movies was all he ever wanted to do. It was also the birth of Nightowl Pictures.
Given Nathan’s penchant for keeping obscenely late hours, he garnered the nickname Nightowl from his highschool brethren. When he finally did begin producing his own short film work, the moniker Nightowl Pictures seemed like a given.
Nathan currently works as a freelance post-production specialist in Charlotte, NC and has a 9-5 gig as a motion graphics designer at Wachovia’s Video Network. Between jobs he makes short films. He loves bunnies and cake and is quite content.
